Have Heart | What Counts (Alternative Covers)

I'm glad because I actually got all alternative covers from Have Heart's EP : What Counts. Ok, there is not that much, but hey this was my goal and I completed that, so I'm fuckin' happy.

There is four different alternative cover of this record and one regular (with navy or black ink). The Test Press also have the regular cover. Last months I talked about some of that stuff when they came to my mailbox, but now my collection is complete, this is the time to make a big page with all the five covers.

Like I say each time, I don't collect every colors variations. I'm only interested by alternative covers and my only goal is to collect all this variations.

So let's begin with the regular cover !

There is two variations of the regular cover : one with "Have Heart" navy print (1st and 2nd Press) and one with "Have Heart" black print (3rd to 5th Press). The difference is very small because the navy print is very dark and looks like the black one. The orange of the cover is also a little more dark on the black version.

Check this picture :

The print on labels are also different ! The labels from the two first press comes with navy print (like the cover), the labels from the third and fourth press comes with black print (like the cover) and the labels from the fifth press comes with navy print (unlike the over). Duh...

I have the Black vinyl from the first press out of 200 copies. So, navy print on cover and label.

Then, this is the Winter Tour 2004-2005 Edition with the famous Calvin & Hobbes cover.

This is the first alternative cover made by Think Fast Records but this is the last I got. This edition come from the second press with the classic Clear Green vinyl, who is the only color avalaible from this press.

200 copies were made. It seems that 160 copies were used with the regular cover and only 40 with the Clavin & Hobbes cover. I'm not sure about the number 40, but a lot of people make a mistake when they say that the Winter Tour Edition is out of 200 copies. Think Fast picked some 7" from the 200 and put the alternative homemade cover on the regular cover.

The homemade paper cover is quality shit, but hey, the design is so cool ! Inside, the regular cover came with navy print like the label. Credits and lyrics are on the insert.

Next, this is the Bonds Of Bro-Ship edition of the third press. 300 handnumbered copies : 150 on Black vinyl and 150 on White vinyl.

I got the White one from Pat Flynn. Yes, I'm so a nerd, but I'm really happy to have a copy directly from the singer's collection.

I got the n° 139 of 150.

Inside, the regular cover came with black print like the label.

The two last alternative covers come from the 2005's Summer Tour.

First, like the Demo 2003 with the Sub Zero cover, Think Fast made a Scorpion alternative cover for the Sink With Cali Fest III edition. 125 copies on classic Black vinyl with black print on the label from the third press.

I love this shit !

The other one is the Positive Numbers Fest 2005 edition on Clear Red out of 125 copies with an alternative cover from the fourth press.

Fun fact, this pressing supposed to be blue, but the plant sent red instead. Blue copies were sent after the fest with normal cover.

This edition is handnumbered on the back cover. I got the n° 82 of 125.

Have Heart | Demo 2003 (Test Press & Olive)

Yes, I know, I talking about Have Heart, once again. This is not my fault, I presume some guys around the world want some bucks before christmas. So they sell their collection and I take advantage of that. I'm evil !

Whatever, today, two brand new stuff for my Demo 2003 collection : Test Press from the fourth press and Olive with color cover. I'm so glad because I wanted those two things since a long time ago.

7 press, 57 editions, but only two Test Press : the first from the... first press and the second from the fourth press. I think Bottled Up made a new Test Press when the pressing plant threw away the stampers and labels. The new cover appeared at this time.

Mine is the one from the fourth press out of 13 copies. Test Press comes with a special cover. In fact, this is the first regular cover with the mention "Test Press". I love this design ! But, despite the first Test Press, this edition doesn't got a transparent cover, this is a classic paper sheet.

Vinyl is stamped on both side of the label : "Have Heart Demo 2003 Test Press" on the front and Bottled Up logo (in color) on the back. It's pity, Test Press are not handnumbered.

It's funny because this Test Press isn't my rarest and expensive edition of this record. I got the Celuloid Acetate cover out of 10, the Negative cover out of 10, the Olive one out of 8, some alternative covers from the last press out of 10 or 11, ... But hey, this is a Test Press and this is Have Heart. I always love Test Press, like each vinyl collector I presume. This is like you have a piece of music's history, a stuff you're never supposed to get.

At the beginning, the pressing information always spoke about only one color cover edition : Olive. But, in reality, they are four different edition from the fifth press with the new cover in color : Olive (8 copies), Easter Egg (6), Dark Grey (5) and Dark Green (4).

You probably understand, this cover is the new regular cover, used since the fourth press to the last one, but the picture is in color. No big deal but the fanatic in me always wanted to own that stuff.

So, this is the Olive edition from the fifth press out of 8 copies handnumbered on the inner sleeve. I got the n° 6.

At this time, I see the final line. It only remains for me to get the Gorilla Biscuit's rip off cover and the Halloween's cover and it's done. But I don't care about the Yellow Summer Tour cover or the Green alternative cover. I have the chance to buy that stuff but spend 100 bucks for a cover that I have 3 times ? Na !

And don't forget to check my website with all editions and all pictures of Have Heart's vinyls.

Have Heart | Demo 2003 (Celuloid Acetate)

Last week, I got a brand new edition of the famous Have Heart's Demo 2003 released on Bottled Up. I'm still far from some huge and fanatic collector, but my collection start to be interesting. I got 13 variations from this record, without forget the Tape edition. Like all my collection (maybe except What Feeds The Fire) I collecting essentially editions with alternative cover. I'm not very interested by color variations with the same cover. Maybe I'm not enough rich for that...

So, last week I bought a new alternative edition from the third press : the Dark Green one with the huge acetate celluloid cover. This is probably one of the more expensive records I never bought. I'm poor (in all sense) and stupid !

The vinyl is Dark Green. There is no really difference with the Mint Green of the same press (see below). Mint Green is stamped on the label, Dark Green's not. In my opinion, this is the only real difference between this two colors.

All the particularity of this edition is this amazing cover. Not the design, this is just the alternative cover from the second press. The material ! This cover is print on a fuckin' celuloid acetate, you know like a transparent platic.

This is not my first vinyl with that, but hey, this is so cool ! You can see the innersleeve, or the vinyl, by transparency.

Bottled Up released only 10 copies of them. For information, the cover (and the vinyl) of the Test Press from the first press was also on celluloid acetate film.

On this picture, I took off the innersleeve, so you can see the vinyl by transparency behind the cover. I love that.

And on this picture, you can see the "difference" between the Dark Green (on the left) and the Mint Green (on the right). Yeah big deal...

As always, you can check my website about Have Heart's vinyl for many information about all release.

Have Heart | What Counts (Winter Tour 2004-2005)

Today we talk about my brand new Have Heart's 7". Yeah another one ! The postman has deposited in my mailbox a few days ago.

This is the Winter Tour 2004-2005 Edition of What Counts EP with the famous Calvin & Hobbes cover. I'm so happy because now I have all the four variant covers of this record (Scorpion, Bonds Of Bro-Ship, Winter Tour and Posi Numbers Fest).

This Winter Tour edition was the first alternative cover made by Think Fast Records. She's come from the second press with the classic Clear Green vinyl, who is the only color avalaible from this press.

This Is Tape Time

You think vinyls are too trendy ? Ok, go further, let's collecting tapes. Tape are so cool ! Too 80's ! Some band made tapes at their beginning because it's cheaper and easy to make at the beginning of the 2K's. Some other band continue because it's cool.

Fuck, I'm ok, I love tapes and this is my little collection.

The first one is the amazing Demo 2003 from Have Heart. Yes, the record with 57 variant of vinyl. This is an homemade tape with paper cover dans handwritten sticker.

My tape is Clear but some other are white, ... The band just took what he had on hand.

Next, we have the also incredible Demo of What Feeds The Fire. Great great band with future members of Verse and Soul Control. You can check my 7" collection of Set Me Free here.

This record isn't Set Me Free, it's the first Demo.

The tape is Clear with homemade paper cover and handwritten sticker. She's handnumbered on the edge. This is the number #1 but I don't know if it's like the "Demo #1" or if I got the tape n° 1 out of... Hum, I also don't know how many tape were produced.

If you read this post, you may know how many I love collecting The Effort's 7" with alternative covers. Necessarily, I got the tape of Wartime Citizens too.

Panic Recors also released this version. Homemade paper cover, great tagged sticker and handnumber. So cool.

My tape is White with n° 53 of 100. I don't know if some other color exist.

Wolf Whistle is one of Pat Flynn's new band. They made really great stuff on vinyl (here). So, Working Man released tape version of their last two records.

The first one is the Demo Two & Live WERS Set. Working Man released two run with many color variation. I got the Solid Blue of the second run out of 50 copies.

The other one is the recent MA Glory. I got the Solid Green edition of the first run out of 50 copies.

Working Man also released : Solid Red (20 copies, label exclusive), Clear w/ Blue Liner (30 copies, band exclusive) and now a second run with White tape out of 50. A Test Tape also exist. Yes, a Test Tape ! Only one copies with "Test" tagged cover. Funny.

Wake The Dead is a great Hardcore band from my city, Marseille. Live And Learn Records released their new EP, Meaningless Expectations, on tape.

25 copies handnumbered : 20 Black (n° 1 to 20) and 5 White (n° 21 to 25). The White is blank, but the Black one is tagged with the band name.

I got the n° 21 of 25.

In march, we did play Witch Cult in Marseille. So I take their Split Tape with Drainland. This is an homemade White tagged tape. I got the n° 35, but I don't how many were released. I see some version with black and white cover on the net. Mine is in color.

Finaly, this is the Basement Tapettes of The Hatepinks. Les Haines Rose were the craziest Punk band from Marseille. Totally insane.

Crapoulet and No Glory Records released this UFO with all their cover song.
