Anchor | Two Shows, Five Records

Anchor is one of the greatest Hardcore band in Europe. One of my favourite too. This is a really cool band who made some great records and performed a lot of insane shows.

I had the opportunity to see them twice and each time I left with a few records under my arm.

The first time I see Anchor was in Lyon in 2008. The band played with Verse on a boat. In fact it was a barge : La Marquise. Funky place.

But Anchor played so loud that it was inaudible. Too bad. So, to confort me I bought a couple of 7".

Captivity Songs was released by Drastic Actions. I got the only edition from the second press : Black out of 330 copies. Unlike the first press, this edition got a exclusive dark green cover.

Retrospectively, I think they had some first press or maybe some Tour Press at the show, but I pick mine quickly and I didn't pay attention. Fuck.

Anchor / The Kind That Kills is a Split Single between two swedish band on a swedish label : Monument. So swedish.

Three songs from TKTK and two from Anchor. I don't have any information about the press. I just know mine is limited to 1000 copies on White Grey Splatter. Maybe this is the only edition for this records.

There is a really cool insert.

The last time I see Anchor was in my city, Marseille, this summer. We organized this fuckin' show just three days after Run With The Hunted and Unveil. What an amazing week !

Unlike the first show, this time Anchor was incredible. The experience of the road spoke : the band was square, fuckin' intense and they played my two favourite songs : Burden and Find Home.

So I cracked and picked some stuff again.

Relations Of Violence is a Single released in 2009 by the polish label Refuse.

The first press was Clear, so I think I got the second press because mine is Black. No more information....

Recovery is the last Anchor's album realeased on Refuse too. This record have a beautiful gatefold cover with a great booklet. I have the White vinyl out of 340 copies.

Gatefold is really neat.

Classy booklet.

Finally, my favourite record : The Quiet Dance. Released by Refuse (again) a few years ago, this is a fuckin' great album.

Strangely I never buy this record until this show. The fault is repaired ! I have the beautiful Clear Red from the second press out of 521 copies and I'm so happy.

The album comes with an insert.

Clear | Demo (This Is Hardcore)

Last time, we talk about the great first Demo of Clear. Clear is the brand new band of Have Heart's singer Pat Flynn. And Clear is a little more accessible than Wolf Whistle. The band is decidedly influenced by Minor Threat and some other amazing 80's stuff. This is a really great record.

So, Triple B released two colors : the Clear (hu hu) one, out of 300, and the Clear Blue one, out of 600 copies. There's also a Test Press (without cover) out of 15 copies and a Tape released by Back To Back and gived by the band to their friends.

Today we talk about the This Is Hardcore Fest edition. The TIH fest was an Hardcore festival held in Philadelphia last august. Clear played and came with a beautiful alternative edition.

This special edition came with the classic Clear Blue vinyl and an alternative homemade cover. I got the n° 9 of 100.

The drawing on the cover is the one found inside the classic cover with the lyrics.

Unlike the regular one, this edition came with a photocopied insert.

Bane | Boston 6:58 PM

Ok, why I'm talking about this old stuff released a few years ago ? Oh, it's simple : if you're an internationnal buyer at the Triple B webstore, you need to buy more than two items for the shipping. So, when I ordered my Clear 7", I took the opportunity to buy some Bane stuff.

I love Bane. This is a fucking great band. We organized their show in Marseille in early year and this was so fuckin' good.

So, I ordered the Give Blood anniversary reissue (what an amazing records !!!) and the Boston 6:58 PM 7".

It's been a long time I resisted, I know those records (Boston, Dublin, Rome) are traps and I don't want to collect the same records again and again. Too bad.

I only have the Clear Green of the second press out of 300 copies and I'm ok with that. Great record, great cover, great concept, great color. It's enough.

Maybe, someday, if I have a few bucks, I could take the other two... Or some other color variations... Maybe...

This Is Tape Time

You think vinyls are too trendy ? Ok, go further, let's collecting tapes. Tape are so cool ! Too 80's ! Some band made tapes at their beginning because it's cheaper and easy to make at the beginning of the 2K's. Some other band continue because it's cool.

Fuck, I'm ok, I love tapes and this is my little collection.

The first one is the amazing Demo 2003 from Have Heart. Yes, the record with 57 variant of vinyl. This is an homemade tape with paper cover dans handwritten sticker.

My tape is Clear but some other are white, ... The band just took what he had on hand.

Next, we have the also incredible Demo of What Feeds The Fire. Great great band with future members of Verse and Soul Control. You can check my 7" collection of Set Me Free here.

This record isn't Set Me Free, it's the first Demo.

The tape is Clear with homemade paper cover and handwritten sticker. She's handnumbered on the edge. This is the number #1 but I don't know if it's like the "Demo #1" or if I got the tape n° 1 out of... Hum, I also don't know how many tape were produced.

If you read this post, you may know how many I love collecting The Effort's 7" with alternative covers. Necessarily, I got the tape of Wartime Citizens too.

Panic Recors also released this version. Homemade paper cover, great tagged sticker and handnumber. So cool.

My tape is White with n° 53 of 100. I don't know if some other color exist.

Wolf Whistle is one of Pat Flynn's new band. They made really great stuff on vinyl (here). So, Working Man released tape version of their last two records.

The first one is the Demo Two & Live WERS Set. Working Man released two run with many color variation. I got the Solid Blue of the second run out of 50 copies.

The other one is the recent MA Glory. I got the Solid Green edition of the first run out of 50 copies.

Working Man also released : Solid Red (20 copies, label exclusive), Clear w/ Blue Liner (30 copies, band exclusive) and now a second run with White tape out of 50. A Test Tape also exist. Yes, a Test Tape ! Only one copies with "Test" tagged cover. Funny.

Wake The Dead is a great Hardcore band from my city, Marseille. Live And Learn Records released their new EP, Meaningless Expectations, on tape.

25 copies handnumbered : 20 Black (n° 1 to 20) and 5 White (n° 21 to 25). The White is blank, but the Black one is tagged with the band name.

I got the n° 21 of 25.

In march, we did play Witch Cult in Marseille. So I take their Split Tape with Drainland. This is an homemade White tagged tape. I got the n° 35, but I don't how many were released. I see some version with black and white cover on the net. Mine is in color.

Finaly, this is the Basement Tapettes of The Hatepinks. Les Haines Rose were the craziest Punk band from Marseille. Totally insane.

Crapoulet and No Glory Records released this UFO with all their cover song.

Clear | Demo

Just a little post to speak about the first Clear's demo, out now on Triple B Records. Clear is the new band of Have Heart's singer Pat Flynn. This is a really great records with six tracks influenced by Minor Threat.

Triple B made two editions for this first release : Clear vinyl limited to 300 copies and Clear Blue limited to 600 copies.

A special edition was made for the This Is Hardcore Fest with the Clear Blue vinyl and an alternative handnumbered cover out of 100. There's also a Test Press out of 15 without cover and a Tape released by Back To Back Records.

I've just got my copy. Nothing special, nothing crazy, just the Clear version out of 300. But great cover and great records.

Lyrics and credits are inside the cover but I'm so lazy, I doesn't scan this thing.
